Van Wyk leads ROC’s at Zwartkop

Rocs_SLTSunshine Ladies Tour campaigner Carmia van Wyk made a great impression at the South African Disabled Golf Association’s Hollard Provincial Challenge, hosted by ReichmansCapital, at Zwartkop Country Club on Saturday.

Van Wyk guided ROC (Rest of Country) to 6.5 points in the first round of the match play team competition and the defending champions will carry a 1.5 point lead over Western Province and a three point advantage over Gauteng into Sunday’s final round.

“SADGA asked me to captain the team after the previous captain had to pull out and I am really enjoying the experience,” said the PGA teaching professional.

“The guys did great to rally for the lead. We expect Western Province to come at us hard in the final round, but we are ready for anything they throw at us.”

ROC won the championship in 2014 at Pezula and successfully defended their title at Zwartkop Country Club last year.
